The new Taoyuan Literature Museum has four floors, each of which is about 100 tsubo and 25 tsubo of Japanese-style building, and also contains part of the garden space, which is oriented towards the direction of operation that is close to the public, and conveys the atmosphere that literature is in the daily life.

The Taoyuan Literature Museum makes use of the demolition of the Taoyuan Japanese-style dormitory complex and the revitalization of the entire site to build the Taoyuan Literature Museum, creating a space for exchange of literature in Taoyuan. With a site area of 653 square meters, the Taoyuan Literature Center consists of a 4-story main building and a 1-story antique exhibition hall. With a combination of one large and one small building, the main building's exterior design vocabulary uses books as imagery to metaphorically represent the meaning and connotation of literature, mainly for literary works collection, new book release, and author biography display functions; in order to present the original site's historical texture characteristics, an imitation of a Japanese dormitory exhibition hall was built in the front of the base to serve as a space for exchange between scholars and interaction with the future, and the two different forms of the building represent the exchange and inheritance of literature between the scholars. The first floor of the Literature Center consists of a lobby, an exhibition hall, a restroom, and a parking space for vehicles.

The 2nd to 4th floors provide exhibition rooms, seminar rooms, exhibition halls, literary collection rooms, conference rooms and administrative offices.

The exhibition hall is planned to provide space for display, rest and simple food and beverage, etc., so as to integrate the Literature Center with the old house.

Main Building

The first floor is planned as a service counter and a literature store, and it is hoped that the “reading gallery” will become a large number of points in the library.

Second floor: The main focus is on permanent exhibitions, and it is recommended that storage space be partitioned off to store exhibition-related spare parts.

Permanent Exhibition: Deducting the public space and storage space, the space is planned as a permanent exhibition space, which is about 60 ping, and it is recommended to purchase and install relevant exhibition racks, display cabinets, display lights, and hanging rails, etc., so as to facilitate the use of the exhibition in the future.

Third floor: The space contains special exhibitions and multi-functional space, which will be used as a place for future interaction between authors and readers, and it is also recommended to partition off the storage space to store the spare parts.

Special exhibition: Deducting the public space, storage space, and multifunctional space, the special exhibition space is about 40 ping, and it is recommended to purchase and install relevant exhibition racks, display cabinets, display lights, and hanging rails, etc., so as to facilitate the use of the exhibition in the future.

Multi-functional space: Maintaining the permeability of the space, it is recommended to adopt a semi-open design, which is expected to accommodate 80~100 spectators, and the equipment includes audio equipment, a simple stage, and seating.

Fourth floor: The administrative floor is used for staff offices, meeting rooms, and volunteer lounges. It is recommended that a small collection room be planned to house important reference materials and exhibits.
